This winter grunge is back! We personally love this trend, as we can finally put down the fake tan. The catwalks in New York were overrun with dark lips, messy liner, bold liner and metallics.

1. Gothic
This is a look which is for the bolder makeup wearers. Of course we can adapt it for the street by toning down the depth of colour and opting for a dark berry. Inglot have a new collection at the moment mirroring this look with dark lipsticks for €14. If you’re new to this trend and feeling anxious, test the water with MAC’s Rebel. It’s a medium to dark plum colour which accentuates most skintones. Paired with cooler contours in an ashy grey colour, this looks a lot more natural then warmer brown toned contours.

2. Reverse Smokey Eye

Well who doesn’t love a smokey eye!? We saw a lot of blacks and dark browns at NYFW A/W 15 but this is the chance for you to get creative. This dark reverse smokey would be fab for a night out but if you want to personalise it a little bit you
can go for a some colour under the eyes. You  can really make your eye colour pop! An example is using a cranberry shade under green eyes, blue eyes come to life with burnt oranges and brown eyes look phenomenal with deep blue tones.

3. Minimalist

This is a rite of passage more so then a trend. Feeling free to wear as little as you like as long as the skin is illuminated and has that exquisite glow. This isnt difficult to achieve either. Nars Illuminators come in 5 shades and you will find a tone for everyone. More affordable brands such as Boots Botanics have a beautiful Radiance Balm which has gone on to win awards. To top off the look add a touch a pink blush and mascara to open the eyes and voila! If this seems like the unthinkable, makeup can be worn if your skin conscious the trick is to keep it sheer ….coverage without the heavy look. We want to look like we are natural glowing goddess’s ladies!

4. Metallic Eyes

This exploded this year. It was teamed with a soft pop of colour on the lips. Again this is really going to give you the opportunity to do whatever you like. Colours galore and you can team with or without liner. The batwing shape shadow is very popular with the likes of Chanel this year and this is great as it gives the illusion of a cat eye without

5. Liner Liner Liner

Liner is a crucial look this Autumn/Winter. Disconnected liner carried on from last year while smudged, flicked, catseyed and graphic lines all made an appearance. It wasn’t just black either, oranges and blues were prominent. Liner can stir terror in some women and right too! The secret?? There isn’t one. Practise makes perfect. It doesn’t matter if you have hooded eyes, unsteady hands or even mess it up. Remove the error with a cotton bud, take a breath and start again!
