How to Achieve the no Makeup Makeup Look

The No Makeup Makeup Look is one of the most important styles every girl should know. Let’s face it. There are some occasions you don’t want people to know you are wearing makeup, but still want to look good, be it in the gym, going to school or work.

Nuxe Moisturiser Suitable for Dry Skin

Prep the Skin

For a natural healthy look, the key step is to prep the skin. To begin this minimal makeup look , moisturise the face using your favourite moisturiser whether it is for dry/oily or combination skin and apply a dewy primer or a primer with an SPF to create that natural glow beneath the foundation base.

Loreal Cushion Foundation

The Base

Depending on what coverage you are most comfortable in, apply something light and fresh on the skin such as a mineral powder foundation or a BB cream/light coverage foundation. This will ensure you are still looking flawless, just with a little bit more of your skin peeking through to ensure the most natural effect.

Conceal and Correct

Concealer is your best friend. Use a light concealer under the eye area, drawing it down as far as the nose in a triangular shape to cancel out any dark circles and brighten the under eye to make you look more awake and fresh. Use a skin tone shade concealer to cover up any blemishes or redness if needed.

Eye Concealer

The Bronzer

Apply a subtle bronzer to warm up the areas that would naturally be hit by sunshine. Skip the contour and gently bronze the cheeks and forehead and add a healthy colour to the face.

Benefit Mascara

Mascara

As this is the No Makeup Makeup Look, you may decide to skip mascara. If you decide to go with it, apply a light coat to the upper lashes only. This will open up the eyes making them appear wide awake. Alternatively try brown mascara instead of the traditional black for a more natural look. Additionally, tight line the upper lash line with brown or black eyeliner, again to open up the eye and make it appear bigger and brighter.

Natural Eye Makeup

The Eyes

Keep the eyes simple. On a blending brush, take some of the bronzer you used and subtly blend it into the crease, emphasising the natural crease shadow. Add a light champagne shimmery eye-shadow onto the lid to brighten up the eye area and give that wide awake, youthful glow. If you feel like you need some eyeliner, substitute it for a dark brown shadow and roughly line above the lash line with a pencil brush.

Eyebrows

Concealer is your best friend. Use a light concealer under the eye area, drawing it down as far as the nose in a triangular shape to cancel out any dark circles and brighten the under eye to make you look more awake and fresh. Use a skin tone shade concealer to cover up any blemishes or redness if needed.

Clarins Brow Palette

Lips

Keep the lips simple and moisturised. For the most natural result, use a tinted lip balm or a ‘my lips but better’ shade just to add some shine rather than colour.

Best Nude Lipstick

Finally, regardless of how minimal the look may seem, it is so important to remember to set it all down so that it remains in place rather than sliding all through the place a few hours later. How unnatural would that look. Use a translucent powder on a big kabuki brush and lightly press everything into the skin so that it stays looking as beautiful and natural for as long as possible. To keep the dewiness after setting, spray a makeup setting spray to prolong the wear whilst maintaining the glow you have created.
